Main Street Sun Hat

After three attempts to come up with a sun hat, it's finally here. I'm calling it the Main Street Hat because it reminds me of a jazz hat. It's very easy to modify if you are looking for a longer brim or something more feminine. Add a flower to give it some class.

  5. I'm trying to make this super cute hat but it is looking very pointy at the tip and wavy around the edges. Is that how it is supposed to look at the beginning (at row 6 and 7). Would love to be able to make this. What am I doing wrong?

  6. I have made some corrections to the hat so it will make better sense. Make sure you are using a stitch marker and skip a stitch before the next st. Email me at thistlesandtulipscrochet@mail.com if you have any more problems.

  12. So I am a guy who crochets and I like the style of a "slouch hat" (Civil War Re-enactor and all). But I found a few pointers for any guys or those who want a more "manly" version. First: Do the DC 2 skip then 3 for an extra round or two (into row 12 or 13) as the hat (at least mine) came out a little tight. Also, to only have a "bill" in the front (Some think it's a bit more "manly" than a bill all the way around. Simple do as instructed above except in the sides and what you want to be the back, skip a stitch every once in a while. (I did this every 5 stitches or so.) Hope this helps anyone interested.
